Break!

3 min read
Finally, in less than a week, I'll be having my long-awaited winter break!!!! However, it sucks that I can't access my dorm since we apparently have to pay an extra $400 to live at the dorms over break. T.T So I gotta start packing the stuff that I need soon and bring it back home. :XD:

Things have been sort of busy. The good thing is that I am finishing all my projects way ahead of time (though I don't know where I got the motivation from) and now all I have left to do is study....and I am now too lazy to do that. :XD: Plus, shockingly, I have been getting A's on my English essays. I thought all of mine were really horrible, but I guess my teacher is an easy grader. Thank God!!!

As for black friday, I did some major shopping. I bought a new laptop....which I don't like as much as my old laptop since the keyboard sucks, but it is lighter...somewhat. I also bought a new flash drive. And I did a lot of shopping at Michael's. That was HEAVENLY. I bought so much stuff from there, like paint, a scrapbook totebag, portfolio bag, an art kit (originally $40, but 50% off!!), two bracelets, and so on. XD Now, my mom is pretty much broke, and I only have a bit of money left on my card.

Then, January approaching, I gotta worry about getting the rest of my financial aid and filling out the forms, which are such a big pain in the butt!!! I am dreading that.

Anyway, I was looking through a lot of sailor moon works from various people on here, and I soooo want to start drawing sailor moon again. The works were so inspiring....but I have a feeling hat once I start, I'm gonna get lazy and not finish. :/ I want to create something beautiful and amazing like the other works I look at, but I can't!! :XD: It is sooo discouraging.

I'm also thinking about going back onto Gimp again. I haven't done any work on that program in a long time, so I'm rusty. Hopefully, my new laptop won't slow down when I install the program and download a lot of brushes.

I am gonna need a lot of inspiration in order to get a move on on my drawing goals. XD *sigh*

Halloween is over and now it's Thanksgiving and then Christmas!

The weather has finally turned cold. XD Right now, my toes are frozen even though the heater is on in my dorm room. I can't tell if it is working or not. :/ I'm still cold so maybe not.

I almost want the cold to go away already but winter is the time of romance, in my opinion, so I'm also eager it is finally here. :)

Anyway, an update:

The semester is almost over! Just about a month left. :) And then a month-long break! Woooh!

I haven't made much progress on befriending my roommate and her friends. Actually, I think my progress is back to zero, well between 1 and 0. :XD: But I'm slowly accepting the fact that we might not become close friends like I wanted to be, and that's okay with me. I still have my other friends and they're enough for me. ^^

I still hate English. XD It's such a pain in the butt, but at least I only have one more essay to do and then I'm done with the class. Finally! I just hope I get an A in that class.

As for my other classes, they are somewhat enjoyable. Drawing I is easy. 2-D Design is too except the intructor grades a bit harshly for a beginners class. :/ And I'm enduring the rest each day until break. XD

With Christmas coming up, I need to start shopping for gifts! But what to buy?!

College Life

1 min read
I have started college life for about two months now.

I'm majoring in art. :3

It isn't as great as I thought it'd be. But maybe it's because most of my friends aren't with me, and I'm still trying to befriend my roommate and her friends. It's a slow process, since I am shy by nature. :/

It's been tough getting use to living away from home. I try to go home whenever I can (just to see my special someone).

And who knows how many tearful nights I've had already. :XD:

But it's slowly getting better. I like some of my classes, but I absolutely hate English. It's making me dislike my other classes because it feels like all they do is add on stress for me. But really it is English that is adding on the stress. *sigh*

Hope it gets better.

Well, I've gone and returned from Vietnam.

It was okay. :XD:
Had some fun but mostly it was boring and the entire time I wished I was back home.

I visited a giant waterfall, went to Dam'Bri (I think that's how you spell it), a Buddhist temple (I think), and other attractions.

I lived with one of my uncles for about two weeks during which I visited each of my uncles, one per day and they cooked up a big meal for us. I didn't eat much of it since there were tons of flies everywhere flying on the food, so that made me lose my appetite. Ugh.

The house I stayed at had a couple of dogs. Next door had a really cute beagle puppy. They provided me with some entertainment. My uncle also raised pigs. They have two GIANT pigs and their offsprings. Man, when those young pigs get hungry, they scream as though someone's chopping them up! I thought they were being tortured or killed when I first heard them.

The weather was okay. Sometimes a bit too humid and hot, but there were times when the weather was nice and cool and perfect.

I got to ride on motorcycles quite a bit. A couple of my cousins took me and my brother on a night out (or two) on theirs.

Then we went to Saigon during our last week. Luckily, we booked a room at a hotel, (the same hotel we stayed at last time). At least it had AC so we didn't die in the heat. It was hot.

The streets in the city were always crowded with motorcycles. Plus, there are huge trucks carrying stuff around since there appears to be a lot of construction going on everywhere in the country. This means a lot of dust and pollution in the air. But it rained at least once a day, so it cleaned the air somewhat.

And the shops, omg, there is so little already made clothes, ususally people over there buy the fabric and hire a seamstress or tailor to make clothes for them. The shops that do sell already made clothes...well....it only comes in one size!!! So if one outfit doesn't fit you, then the rest won't fit you. XD For any people with "extra stuff" on them...all their clothes are gonna have to be custom made.

Luckily, they had my size, and my mom bought me 12-13 outfits. I am wearing one per day until I've worn them all. The thing is, they have to be handwashed and cannot be put under direct sunlight. So much hassle.

(**I'll see if I can post up a few pics from my trip**)

Additionally, on my last two days in Saigon, one of my cousins took me to a lot of bookstores to look for some English novels...BUT that was a failure since I couldn't find anything. And he took me to the cinemax to watch the Karate Kid, which was an awesome movie! I love the last kick!!!:heart:

HOWEVER, when I got back home, several people believe that this cousin likes me. Like as in LIKE LIKE, base on several emails he wrote to me. He wrote in English, but he isn't fluent in it, so it is kind of hard to understand him. o.O But I'm seriously freaking out a bit over this since the thought of it is just so.....icky.

I hope he doesn't start sending me even weirder messages because then I'm gonna have to consult my parents about this, or ignore him altogether (which I'll feel bad about since he's family). Talk about a rock and a hard place. :XD:

Anyway, after we left Vietnam, we arrived in Los Angeles, California. We spent one day going to Universal Studios Hollywood. That place is soo cool! I love the rides. For me, they were scary. Especially the Jurassic Park, 84 foot VERTICAL drop from a waterfall. The Simpson Ride was pretty scary, too. I screamed in all of the rides, since I'm really easy to scare. :XD:

I loved the Donkey. It was cool how he actually talked to the crowd (like answered and asked questions pertaining to only that one person he's talking to), and he made some really funny and witty comments. I could stand there all day listening to him.

I also got to meet one of the dogs who played Marley in Marley and Me. But I forgot his name. I think it starts with a "D."

I got to buy a keychain for one of my friends, and a "Hollywood Best Boyfriend" trophy.
I wanted more stuff, but my dad decided that enough was enough. Too much money was spent.

The next day I returned home. At last! And the day after I returned, I got to surprise my bf. He was happy that I was back, but said I was mean for not telling him. :XD: And now he won't let me out of his sight. He said he had three weeks to make up for. :/

And now....I'm back to the same old, same old. Except I gotta prepare for college. *sigh* So much to do, so much money I gotta spend.
