Well, I've gone and returned from Vietnam.
It was okay.
Had some fun but mostly it was boring and the entire time I wished I was back home.
I visited a giant waterfall, went to Dam'Bri (I think that's how you spell it), a Buddhist temple (I think), and other attractions.
I lived with one of my uncles for about two weeks during which I visited each of my uncles, one per day and they cooked up a big meal for us. I didn't eat much of it since there were tons of flies everywhere flying on the food, so that made me lose my appetite. Ugh.
The house I stayed at had a couple of dogs. Next door had a really cute beagle puppy. They provided me with some entertainment.
My uncle also raised pigs. They have two GIANT pigs and their offsprings. Man, when those young pigs get hungry, they scream as though someone's chopping them up! I thought they were being tortured or killed when I first heard them.
The weather was okay. Sometimes a bit too humid and hot, but there were times when the weather was nice and cool and perfect.
I got to ride on motorcycles quite a bit. A couple of my cousins took me and my brother on a night out (or two) on theirs.
Then we went to Saigon during our last week. Luckily, we booked a room at a hotel, (the same hotel we stayed at last time). At least it had AC so we didn't die in the heat. It was hot.
The streets in the city were always crowded with motorcycles. Plus, there are huge trucks carrying stuff around since there appears to be a lot of construction going on everywhere in the country. This means a lot of dust and pollution in the air. But it rained at least once a day, so it cleaned the air somewhat.
And the shops, omg, there is so little already made clothes, ususally people over there buy the fabric and hire a seamstress or tailor to make clothes for them. The shops that do sell already made clothes...well....it only comes in one size!!! So if one outfit doesn't fit you, then the rest won't fit you. XD For any people with "extra stuff" on them...all their clothes are gonna have to be custom made.
Luckily, they had my size, and my mom bought me 12-13 outfits. I am wearing one per day until I've worn them all. The thing is, they have to be handwashed and cannot be put under direct sunlight. So much hassle.
(**I'll see if I can post up a few pics from my trip**)
Additionally, on my last two days in Saigon, one of my cousins took me to a lot of bookstores to look for some English novels...BUT that was a failure since I couldn't find anything. And he took me to the cinemax to watch the Karate Kid, which was an awesome movie! I love the last kick!!!
HOWEVER, when I got back home, several people believe that this cousin likes me. Like as in LIKE LIKE, base on several emails he wrote to me. He wrote in English, but he isn't fluent in it, so it is kind of hard to understand him. o.O But I'm seriously freaking out a bit over this since the thought of it is just so.....icky.
I hope he doesn't start sending me even weirder messages because then I'm gonna have to consult my parents about this, or ignore him altogether (which I'll feel bad about since he's family). Talk about a rock and a hard place.
Anyway, after we left Vietnam, we arrived in Los Angeles, California. We spent one day going to Universal Studios Hollywood. That place is soo cool! I love the rides. For me, they were scary. Especially the Jurassic Park, 84 foot VERTICAL drop from a waterfall. The Simpson Ride was pretty scary, too. I screamed in all of the rides, since I'm really easy to scare.
I loved the Donkey. It was cool how he actually talked to the crowd (like answered and asked questions pertaining to only that one person he's talking to), and he made some really funny and witty comments. I could stand there all day listening to him.
I also got to meet one of the dogs who played Marley in Marley and Me. But I forgot his name. I think it starts with a "D."
I got to buy a keychain for one of my friends, and a "Hollywood Best Boyfriend" trophy.
I wanted more stuff, but my dad decided that enough was enough. Too much money was spent.
The next day I returned home. At last! And the day after I returned, I got to surprise my bf. He was happy that I was back, but said I was mean for not telling him.
And now he won't let me out of his sight. He said he had three weeks to make up for. :/
And now....I'm back to the same old, same old. Except I gotta prepare for college. *sigh* So much to do, so much money I gotta spend.
